DALLAS - Billy Hisbon, 84, fomerly of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery East with the Rev. Henry Crawford, associate minister of Union Baptist Church in Dallas, officiating. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Billy Hisbon was a former teacher in the Amarillo Independent School District. God received Billy Hisbon at 1:11 a.m. Aug. 6 with his daughter, Debra Jean, and son-in-law Barry present for the send-off. Mr. Hisbon was passionate about coaching basketball at Carver High School, teaching math and serving as assistant principal at Sam Houston, serving as deacon and with finances at Jenkins Chapel Baptist Church, in Omega Psi fraternity and with Coldwell Banker Realtors. Billy's family pockets from Dallas, Atlanta, Greenville and Amarillo will miss Mr. Hisbon's wit, dedication and work ethic. He was a former member of Jenkins Chapel Baptist Church in Amarillo.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra J. Hisbon-Lee and husband Barry of Stone Mountain, Ga.; and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary.

As I told Jacob, Mr Hisbon was my favorite person at Sam Houston. He never gave up on even the most hardheaded students( I being one). I do not remember the math he taught, but he will never be forgotten by this former Ranger.
