WHERE ARE THEY NOW-BILLY HISBON

Perhaps Coach Schroder will read this and know the answer. One of the best people at Sam Houston was Billy Hisbon. What a great person. And the kids loved him.

Anybody know anything about him ???

Jake

I checked with my friend who works at AISD and she said that the latest info they have on Mr. Hisbon was that he retired in 1984 but that was all she knew. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

This is so strange. I was just trying to "google" Mr. Hisbon, because I think about him all the time. Yes, one of the best teachers by far, and I'll never forget him. I even remember his birthday!..July 27th (I don't know what year).I thought I would try another route in finding him and came upon this webpage, and there was his name! I see I'm not the only one curious of his whereabouts. I know of many others, too. If anyone finds out, please let me know. thanks,
Tina

Thanks Tina for that bit of information. We are hoping for more people to log on and tell us what they know. Please refer friends over to the website so our membership will grow. Also let us know if you are curious about anyone, student or teacher, that you wonder about. Hopefully someone will know.

The following is a duplicate
message that I posted on the "Where are they now" section but since it is about Coach Hisbon thought I would post it where it actually belongs! Guess I got so excited about talking to Coach Hisbon on the phone that I posted in the wrong spot!!

OK guys I have information on Coach Hisbon. Randy Brown looked on switchboard.com and came up with a listing for Billy Hisbon in Duncanville, TX and called and gave me the information. So, I called and asked if that was the Coach Hisbon that taught at SHJH in Amarillo, TX and he said that it was. He doesn't have a computer so he can't check out the blog but I told him how everyone was interested in finding out where he was and he said to pass on to you that he thinks about those days all the time, he remembered Trev fondly and got a laugh out of the Hisbonisms that were written here. He sends his love to everyone. How cool is that! Thanks Randy for thinking of switchboard.com.

Hello all,

My name is Debra and I am Billy's daughter. Dad went to heaven August 6, 2008. It feels so very good to read such wonderful things about my Dad. I know how much he loved teaching Math at Sam Houston Jr. High. I included this info in the obituary read at the service, August 9 at Llano Cemetery, "Dad would spend hours grading papers. . .many of which were enrichment assignments designed to help struggling students in Algebra and Geometry."

Once again, I thank you for admiring and contacting Daddy in Duncanville.

Debra
