SHARING STORIES !!
That's Mr. Barker on his knees repairing something on the floor. If you didn't take boys PE then you may not remember Mr. Barker unless you had him for home room or detention (not that any of you ever served detention !! ). Anyway, I saw him every morning since I taught first period PE and we shared his office in the old gym. Good guy. I wish I knew his whereabouts or even if he is still with us. The most memorable quote from him was one he would say every year as the school year draw to a close. "This is the time of year teaching jobs look good", of course referring to the fact that summer break was coming soon. If any of you know anything about him, let me know.
I noticed no one took me up on my offer to share some memories of Sam Houston. Maybe you are still working on the wording and are planning to give us a great story really soon. Here is a suggestion if you haven't already thought of something. Tell us what you remember about the ritual kids had with Mr. Craddock and the "Ides of March" and how kids would come in early just to mess with his room. It seemed to be a big thing every year.
Until next time Sam Houston !!
